TAP NEW YORK BREW FEST - 20th Anniversary Event!

  • Hunter Mountain Ski Resort

LAST YEAR WE WON A BRONZE MEDAL FOR OUR CRAZY DAIZY BELGIAN TRIPEL!!!

TAP® New York started out 20 years ago with a couple hundred beer fanatics and a handful of craft brewers at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, and has grown into the largest craft beer and food event in New York State.

Craft brewing is alive and growing bigger than ever in New York State. The popularity of craft brewing has led to fuller bodied, flavorful brews featuring rich colors, bold flavors, and imaginative ingredients. People ask for it, and the brewers are answering. Many new craft breweries are opening every year, and we're both happy and proud to welcome them aboard.

TAP® New York has grown over tenfold through the years to now encompass the entire base areas at Hunter Mountain, plus added tent space. Over 120 breweries were invited for 2016, representing well over 300 individual beers, offer everything from IPAs and lagers to weissbiers, doppel and trippel bocks, stouts, ales... pretty much any variety you know of, and probably a few that you don't.

TAP® New York is also about food. Each year we offer plenty to eat. Daily cooking demonstrations will also show you some great ideas for your own kitchen.

TAP® is also a beer competition. Brewers from across the state enter their finest suds to compete for plaques and trophies. Each year on Saturday at TAP®, highly qualified judges choose the best craft brewery in New York State and also the best brewery in the Hudson Valley. On Sunday, the panel of judges decide the best individual beers in both the Hudson Valley and the entire state.

NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 21 WILL BE ADMITTED. VALID ID MUST BE CARRIED AT ALL TIMES AND PRODUCED UPON REQUEST.

Beer Session Radio - Live Audio with Jimmy Carbone!

Every Tuesday at 5:00 PM, New York City publican Jimmy Carbone plays host to an audio ale salon celebrating the world of craft beer. Through discussions with beer industry insiders and knowledgeable beer fans from across the country, Jimmy and his friends explore every aspect of the brewer's craft from grains to pint glass and tasting to toasting. Beer Sessions Radio is sponsored by GreatBrewers.com, your online source for craft beer information, and supported by The Good Beer Seal, an association of independently owned and operated bars in New York City that serve, promote and support good craft beer. Our theme song, "Tonight is the Night" was written and performed by We're All Just Passing Through whose co-founding member, Travis Johnides, co-hosts the Long Island craft beer podcast The Beer Amigos. Contact Jimmy directly at Jimmypotsandpans@gmail.com

Jimmy will be at the Tap Room at Noon this day to interview us and have some fun in the suds!  Tune in!

Belgium Comes To Cooperstown @ Ommegang Brewery!

Tickets on-sale April 1st at 12PM via www.etix.com

For 2016, the brewery is turning to the patron saint of quirky and playful himself with an all-things Bill Murray theme.

Recognized annually as one of the best and must-attend beer festivals in America, on August 5 and 6, 3,000 lucky guests will enjoy the opportunity to taste hard-to-find Belgian import brews as well as Belgian-style ales from all over North America. More than 100 breweries will be on-hand pouring while festival-goers fully immerse themselves in a wild and wonderful space fueled by the legendary actor’s best known movies and characters. Tickets go on sale to the public April 1.

As always, BCTC promises more than just great beer – gourmet food vendors, live music, on-site camping and fireworks make the weekend truly special. And of course, surprises! The entire event will be designed to emulate the creativity and spirit of Bill Murray, and what could be more Murray-like than an “anything is possible” attitude and expectation.

Festivities begin on Friday at 6pm with a five-course beer-pairing dinner for VIP ticket holders. Festival grounds open at noon on Saturday for patrons holding camping tickets. Tasting begins at 2:30 pm for VIP ticket holders and 3 pm for general admission. Tasting ends at 7 pm. Live music runs from 3 pm until midnight. On Sunday morning, breakfast will be served from 8 am until noon. The brewery will be closed to the public Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6, but reopens for regular service on Sunday, August 7.

VIP tickets cost $275 and include the beer pairing dinner, two nights of camping on the brewery grounds, and additional access to the beer tasting on Saturday afternoon. General admission tickets for Saturday’s tasting event cost $110 and general admission with camping on Saturday night costs $125.

Tickets go on sale April 1 at noon at Ommegang.com and Etix.com and are available until they sell out. Please note that VIP tickets have sold out in under a minute for the last four years and historically, all tickets sell out within a day of the event going on sale. Owego Strawberry Festival 2016

  • Owego Strawberry Festival 2016

Historic Owego Marketplace Presents:

“Strawberry Peace”

The 36th Annual Owego Strawberry Festival will celebrate “Peace” as the theme for this year’s festival. World peace, peace in our country, village, neighborhood, peace at home....?  Living in peace and prosperity is a wish we all share.  Let’s celebrate this idea and borrow some tie-dye and peace signs from the 1960’s and 70’s along with some classic songs provided by our talented musical groups. The youth of that time experienced protest and polarization similar to today and countered the effect by embracing peace and love. The message is the same today and peace will prevail if we all want it to!

Where do you look for it? Some of us find those moments when we do things that we enjoy and find meaning in doing. We hope that you will include the Owego Strawberry Festival situated in the center of Historic downtown Owego along the Susquehanna River as one of those things to enjoy.

Welcome to this year’s Strawberry Festival! We offer something for every member of the family. Our community centered parade will make you and the kids smile. We continue to improve our selection of crafters so you are sure to find that one of a kind keepsake. Come hungry because you will be so sorry if you don’t. With so many delicious choices it is hard to decide. You will find strawberry shortcake on every street so get it before it’s gone! Sit in the North Court House Lawn and watch the puppet show or enjoy activities for kids like face painters, sand art, bicycle stunt shows, pageants, bounce houses and much more.  Enjoy musical entertainment of all types and relax in the inspired atmosphere of downtown Owego. Please join us and don’t forget to wear your tie-dye and peace signs!

Make the 36th Annual Owego Strawberry Festival  the first destination on your 2016 summertime bucket list!

Lots of excitement is planned for this year's Festival! Friday night fireworks, twelve bands and the usual attractions like "Straw Dawgs Strut Their Stuff" Contest Strut Form Children's Bounce House, a zillion runners at the 5K Race and Kids' 1 Mile Run , a Miss/Mrs. Strawberry Pageant, Wine/BeerTasting, Rubber Ducky Derby, lots of great entertainment and a few surprises.  And, of course, YOU!

There will be plenty of great food and a fantastic array of arts and crafts.  Over 200 vendors and artisans will line the streets downtown.  People can visit the unique and awesome shops in Owego.  Our selection of fine restaurants and shops are always filled with distinctive merchandise and are sometimes referred to as “the best kept secret in the Southern Tier!”

Since the debut of the Owego Strawberry Festival 36 years ago, hundreds of thousands of people have been drawn to downtown Owego to experience the charm of this annual festival.  We urge everyone to come early and be ready for a full day of fun, and excitement this year, June 17 and 18, 2016!

Check out our list of events, entertainment and activities for the whole family.  See what's in store for you!
